The demand for computer and network support has increased greatly as more and more companies are relying on computers to carry out their business. While the huge and established companies are hiring IT and network experts, it has become an issue for the small businesses who cannot afford to have an altogether different department for managing and updating their network. As a result these companies are taking help from third party companies to address their technical issues which are also known as Managed IT Service Providers or MSPs.

Even though by outsourcing the requirements of IT services, a company can save some certain amount and can get relaxed about its network functioning, yet there are some positives and negatives that should be taken care of.

The Negatives

1. Less Control and Discontentment: When a company outsources its requirements to third party service providers, it has to surrender its control over their systems. At times the surrendering of control does not seem to be worth and leads to discontentment.
2. Cost of the Services: The service providers are required to provide high quality services to their clients that demands extremely skilled professionals which can add up to the services cost. Some of the service provider charges a flat fee, where as others may charge according to the hours worked.

The Positives

1. Improved Performance: An ideal service provider makes the network as efficient as possible by making the system updated plus they may also provide software upgrades, effective firewalls and anti-virus solutions. This ultimately results in improved performance of the business.
2. Well-organized Network: IT services providers are most of the time well-versed in their job, thus make the business most effective is minimum time. They analyze the existing system and then take the essential steps in order to enhance the overall functioning of the system.
3. Cost-Effective: Hiring MSPs can seem to be very costly at times, however, with efficient systems and improved business, the cost at the end of the day becomes viable.
